‘Ar y 9’ is an 8 track live album recorded during the band’s celebratory UK tour of 2019, in support of the 10th anniversary re-release of their debut album.

The concert features songs from each of their studio albums, 2010s ‘9Bach’, 2014s ‘Tincian’ and 2016s ‘Anian’, all available on Real World Records.

‘Ar y 9’ is the equivalent Welsh expression to the English “dressed up to the nines” and reflects the band's feeling after the addition of Andy Gangadeen to the line-up, who has brought an electronic element to the band’s sound, as well as his unique drumming style, first showcased on the tour, and now this live album.

9Bach’s music is an atmospheric, evocative, and emotional hybrid of the Welsh folk tradition, and of contemporary influences and working practices. Building on a deepened, almost ambient sound picture, the songs take you into the landscape and the emotions that it evokes. Music is a living thing, not a museum piece, and the way that 9Bach compose and perform reflect this.
