Super Violate is a genre mashing 4-piece band hailing from Los Angeles, California. The band is made up of Bayo (vocals), Flavio (vocals/guitar), Blair (drums), and Zach (Modular/Synth). Originally forming in 2018 as a trio, the band was able to perform at the legendary Low End Theory in Los Angeles, where legends like Flying Lotus, Nosaj Thing, and Tokimonsta cut their teeth throughout their comeups. However, where those Low End Theory stars are known for their jazzy approach to the beat-scene, Super Violate comes in from the opposite end of the musical spectrum. Equal parts Punk, Metal, Hip-Hop, Noise, and West Coast Bass Music, the band has a sound all their own. First discovered through the demo submissions for A2B2 Radio, Super Violate perfectly captures the sound and vibe of the hardcore underground.
Originally intending on releasing music going into 2020, the band decided instead to hone their craft throughout the Global Pandemic in order to come out swinging once things cooled off. Now, in 2022, Super Violate is ready to explode onto the scene with their debut full length album, Peabody. The album evokes a feeling similar to having a nervous breakdown while scrolling on your computer. A slow sink into an unrecognizable sludge. The audio equivalent of running head first into a wall and exploding into millions of particles on impact.
The album is being released on A2B2 Records, headed up by Andy Morin of Death Grips. The ethos of A2B2 Records is their commitment to giving a platform to the sonic successors of Death Grips and the mutant scene in general. Falling somewhere between Machine Girl, Danny Brown, and Death Grips, Super Violate is the next step in underground hardcore. Welcome to the shit show.
