This EP is a echo project of the biography Fra Skuggestrand Til Espeland, written by Anette Aga`s grandmother and her experience growing up at a farm in a steep mountain terrain, surrounded by harsh, wild nature.
Anette picks stories from this place and from the book and makes little musical poems.
Trolls, huldra and the supernatural feeling of the woods and lakes are quite prominent and add extra layers of wonder to the songs.
References to traditional Norwegian musical motifs are scattered throughout the whole EP.
Anette Aga is a musician from the costal city of Bergen- Norway. She plays the kantele, sings and writes songs based on themes and motifs found in nordic folklore and myth.
The songs are in Norwegian and mostly written in dialect. The melody style and structure are heavily influenced by scandinavian song tradition and early medieval ballads.
