Utilizing all five vocalists using the technique of "cadavre exquis", several independent narratives flow together to emerge as one, creating an universe of shared suffering and trains of thoughts which differ, but ultimately emphasize different aspects of the same thematics.
Borrowing heavily from Dante Alighieri's "Inferno", "Approaching Cocytus", "c a i n a", "a n t e n o r a", "p t o l o m a e a" and "j u d e c c a" form a cycle within a cycle, drawing real-life comparisons to places, traumatas and emotions to descend further downwards the inevitable culmination which is "30 Silver Coins".
"Phantom Limbs", the title track, can be viewed as another cycle in itself, consisting of four acts: "I. The Haunting", "II. A Sun that's Black", "III. Bitter Dreams" and "IV. Flatline".
