"For the live shows around Cross Record, we had to reimagine the songs' construction as a band, and to create a dynamic and vocal-centered performance. Sonically it was a puzzle that required lots of false starts before we solved each song. When Tommy invited us to record the set at Lazybones, I thought it was such a great opportunity to capture them in a way they likely wouldn't ever be heard again. The studio was our last stop off on our way back home after our month-long tour, and I couldn't think of a better way to have ended our travels." Emily Cross, December 2019
