These songs are a capture of my moods, my headspace, and the symbols and imagery that arose from my subconscious and found their way into my words during a time of deep grief, in the months and years after my dear Dad chose to end his life in 2017.
Some songs are frank and others are more like a stream of consciousness. Initially they were all written as a personal catharsis, never to be shared, but they soon began to tug at my sleeve, wanting to be heard.
My hope is that this album shines a light on the nuances of grief and its myriad of accompanying emotions. That these songs can be a balm for the healing process.
"Eve Goodman is a young woman who transmutes the personal into the universal. If you sit, listen and wait, this beautifully crafted new folk light, will unveil earth, soul and a deep connection to what it is to be human in these troubled, inspiring times."
