The song was written as an aural talisman, a hopeful empowering statement that we are complex creatures who must embrace feelings of happiness and sadness equally, and that even the darkest time can be followed by a brighter one. It features Elsa de Alfonso, a close friend of mine and a much loved elusive icon of the Spanish underground queer indie scene. Musically, the song is a glimmering electro-pop gem, with a driving beat and an ever present synth ostinato and voice sample provided by Elsa and serving as (almost obsessive) reminders that a good laugh can be an exorcism when melancholy gets the best of us.

Evripidis and His Tragedies is Evripidis Sabatis. The "Tragedies" are the devastating, confessional, self-sarcastic, darkly humorous songs that draw on his classical piano training, queer sensibility and storytelling skills to examine and own up to the vicissitudes of life. Evripidis' pop inclinations take us for a bumpy, dancey ride across the fine line between tragedy and joie de vivre.
