With their second album "Pillars for the Dying", the band has carved out a colder, tighter, and more mature direction - equal parts old-school aggression and grim atmosphere. They changed their sound to a more rhythmic and technical one, almost abandoning the simpler or crustier sound, trying to embrace Death and Thrash metal to evolve further. The new songs have similar lyrical themes to their first album, only this time delving even more in to existential dread and madness.
