Gem Club is the project of pianist Christopher Barnes, formed in Somerville, MA in 2009. Two acclaimed albums — Breakers (2011) and In Roses (2014) — known for packing emotional intensity into hushed, minimal arrangements. After a decade, Barnes returns with collaborator Ieva Berberian for Emerald Press — ten songs about love, loss, and the cost of giving yourself to another.
