For the last two years I have not paid a bill. I literally wait for bailiffs to knock every day. I do not claim benefits for fear that some past infraction when I was freelancing might bite me on the arse.

But every day I make music. I tell stories, take walks around my local community with a bluetooth speaker, partially to gauge reaction, partially to try and make people smile when I can. I am neurodivergent af. Have been forever, but I was never diagnosed.

Getting a diagnosis is impossible when you are a single 44 year old who lives with a curtain over his front door for fear some official may knock and catch a glimpse of you sneaking around. So I revel in my influences, my mental trips and the collapse of my pre covid coping strategies to make music every day.

If Sean Price (inna lillahi wa inna ilayhi raji’un) was the brokest rapper you know, I’m the brokest artist on earth! Every day I walk the street worrying that I might not eat, or that today might be a cold one with no company, and every day, music proves me wrong.

This is the energy I have put into my creation and production. In anticipation of my forthcoming album, I thought I would drop a little flavour of what Jim Parris, Truthos Mufasa and I, have been up to in the studio, on an instrumental tip.

Music I created in anguish, for people to vibe, study, relax, chill, f*$k to, for them to raise a fist to, bar to if you must, even if you do it like air guitar when no one is watching! Some of the scales I use on this beat tape are designed to make the listener feel more relaxed and focussed, I hope there is a vibe there that everyone can get down with.

Mc, producer, poet, playwright and actor, with a few other tricks up his sleeve, Manchester based recording artist GreenFinguz knows little more than playing with words, sounds and rhythm; entertaining anyone he gets a chance to with stories, songs and poems. A raconteur who likes to listen as well as speak. If one of his songs makes you smile, undulate, or headbang you made his day.
