This series of solo electronic tracks, analog jams and experiments in Braindance/Techno/Jungle/Acid/Breakcore etc....whatever you want to call it....are the flipside to The Hatcliffe House Tapes Series. Recorded at the same time (some before) using the same equipment, in the same studio space.
Most of these recordings where made on cassette and mini disc reflecting the time period they was captured in.''

Acrelid's Rave Tapes Boxset straddles a huge variety of styles from gut wrenching acid and jungle and evokes memories of everything from early Warp Recordings records, BBC Radiophonic Workshop influences and avant-garde experimental music. From the earliest lo-fi era of Acrelid's music using some advanced techniques to squeeze the most from software like Music 2000 on the Sony Playstation, moving on later using the Yamaha DJX II (a keyboard that I now own after a meeting with Acrelid) and racks of hardware equipment Acrelid's talent is clear with ever more inventive exploration of the musical landscape and driving arrangements. Acrelid's Illegal Rave Tapes Boxset had me captivated for it's entire length and left me eager to hit play again once I'd reached the end. I can't recommend it enough.
