The legendary german House label Needs (not wants) is back with a new series called the GOLD EDITON, dedicated to reissue favourite tracks from the Needs repertoire that are enhanced and dressed up in new arrangements and live versions.
When the label stopped operations in 2006 it was mainly to the hiatus that musical mastermind Lars Bartkuhn took from producing dance music to dive deeper into producing jazz and brazil orientated records. In 2015 he returned to create jams of blissful deepness for labels like NEROLI and UTOPIA/PHONICA.
The first GOLD EDITON release features the much heralded 'WALKIN' THRU CIRCLES' written and produced by Lars Bartkuhn and his brother Marek in 2001. The original mighty 'THUMP MIX' is a constantly building mover that is based on a massive beat, hypnotic soundscapes and highly energetic chord hooks, ready for taking off to outer space. It has gained much love and support among many of your favourite dj's around the world! Beautifully remastered and sounding warmer and fuller than ever, you will realise this gem sounds timeless and hasn't aged a bit!
For the 'FULL EXPANSION' Lars has gone back to the studio to recompose and re-record the whole thing over again, combining the skills of some excellent session musicians with lots of live instrumentation, drums & percussion and vocals all played and sung by the producer himself. The result is a complex, epic and fearless Jazzfunk odyssey, both musically expansive and heavily grooving at the same time.
