Earth, or a resemblance thereof.
Year 2080: A worldwide nuclear war has modified Earth’s magnetic field thus creating a breach beyond human repair that has opened the doors to another reality. One we daren’t peak into but we have no choice... It is all around us.
Creatures once buried within its molten depths have crept into a world scorched by the Sun, taking advantage of our weakened disposition. They are not affected by this scorching daylight. Many of us had died within days of the blasts, many within years of the fallout until what resembled us was left had adapted to the horrors of the once new, now ancient infernal landscape. Are we still human, you could ask. What I would suggest as an answer is “what was human?”
Haunted by entities and hordes of survivors without any morals, clan’s of these creatures and of our own lay down the law in territories torn by the claws of the worlds’ frantic struggle to reboot its existence. Me, I am one of a few real humans left. Peace and green are all we are keen for.
My name is K. Ozuwara. I walk this greenhouse everyday looking for love in this never-ending napalm death nightmare, wandering the encrusted roads of a devastated world. One day, real love will be waiting for me on a patch of cool grass surrounded by trees that encourage rain and life... Here, I will be impregnated here and give birth to the seed of the new Earth. This is all I dream about.
For now, an outpost keeps me anchored near a bunker just south of the DeadChrome zone, 7 kilometers from my present location. You find me as I prepare a daily dosage of CPS-23 to protect myself, like all who have access to these drugs, against high-energy radiation falling like red snow most hours of the day... One can seek shelter from the eroding flakes underground, but with oxygen now being at a minimum, you cannot stay there for long.
In a few hours, I must make land crossing through a treacherous region. Tension, like the heat, is rising from the pit of my stomach. Death will stalk me every step of the way, in many forms, but love is out there... It is time to move.
Dilapidated buildings within a dilapidated city within a dilapidated world… We must make of the madness what we will. Walk with me in the decay, Death can collect us another day.
