Altitude goes both ways. It extends from the heights of mountaintops to the depths of high seas, and depending on resolution and point of view one can find a scatter of details at various orders of magnitude. Different calibration and focus return different impressions.

Titled after a section of the Italian Alps, Alpi Graie e Pennine was composed and recorded throughout 2024, and uses a limited set of gestures to explore the concepts of altitude, scale, and verticality in four interconnected directions. Altered sounds/themes appear in various contexts across the tracks, moving from rarefied to frantic and speaking to the experiences of balance vs vertigo and awe at the micro and macroscopic scale of things – from the fuzz on an edelweiss petal to the volume of a mountain range formed over million of years. These both can give an idea of the sublime.
