Arctic / Antarctic was originally released in 2010 on Luxus-Arctica International.

This album serves as a snapshot in my personal practice as it stood in 2010 - a mixture of granular processes and analog tape manipulation. It makes me realize that ten years later that not much has changed.

The tracks on the 2020 version deviate from the original subtlety. No new material has been added but the mix has been adjusted and new things have been brought to the surface.

Marcus Fischer is an interdisciplinary artist and musician based in Portland, Oregon. He has released music and performed under his own name and with various collaborators. In 2019 two of his sound works were included in the Whitney Biennial. One of those pieces, "Untitled (words of concern)" is now in the permanent collection of the Whitney Museum of American Art.
