More Hate Productions presents the fifth full-length album by SLYTHERIN (California, USA), demonstrating the significant development of this band. The genre shift is the main thing that is immediately noticable. Forsaking their black metal roots, SLYTHERIN dive into the world of dark, atmospheric and deeply emotional gothic doom metal. The album lyrics are traditionally inspired by the fantasy world created by Joanne Rowling. The melancholy and heaviness of gothic doom metal perfectly fit the emotional experiences characteristic of this world. ‘Has Only Just Begun’ has not lost the magic atmosphere of the previous releases, yet introduced some darker gothic shades that pair perfectly with the semantic component of the album.
