It's finally done. What a weight off of my shoulders. I can't speak for the other half, but I'm exhausted.
We've been writing and recording these songs DIY style in Frank's basement for the past two years, though a song or two has origins even before then. This album was written and recorded entirely by two kids from the ages of 18 to 19.
I'm almost 20 now. I look back at some of the things we wrote and I can only smile. It feels nostalgic to me, and it's not even out to the public. There have been so many changes in our lives since we started this project, it's like we're both different people. We came in ambitious and naive, and left triumphant and... naive. We had no idea how to make an album, we just wanted to make something for people to hear, and identify with. We threw everything at the wall, and just cobbled sounds together (with two microphones!)
Mornings spent pounding away on the drums trying to get a take I liked, telling him "Nah, layer the solos over each other", wondering what was making the whole song clip, man, it was a journey.
We'd like to thank Ronald Nazal for coming in late into our production and mastering everything. We basically gave him an impossible task in making this sound good, considering how poorly we recorded it, but I think he did very well.
We'd also like to thank: Nick Somers, Max Leckie, Eliza Lutek, Slade Brown, Kayla and Kristen Frier, Switch to Black, Outside Influence, Martin Grice, Alejo Saralegui, Holly and Alex Inglis, Jaydyn Baillie, Alex Krups, Dakota McGhie, our parents, all the boys from Delta who bring the party every goddamn show we play, and to anyone I'm missing because I'm stupid.
See you guys soon. We're not stopping.
