The collection spirals around a particular time of recovery and transition in the artist’s life. In a visit to a wall of archived minimal guitar music tapes, recorded in stream of conscious sessions over the winter of 2019, the tapes were cut into fragments and weaved into dependence over the course of the summer and fall, to form the warm rope that holds the shell body.

“Shellbody“ is an ode Sharon Brickman, the composer’s grandmother, who has passed the shellbody spirit through lineage.
