Finding words, catching beats and weaving fragile forms, Michl Laab and Margarethe Maierhofer engage in a playful musical encounter that keeps floating and breathing. Spoken word and subtle songlines create an intimate space in which voice and instruments mingle.

About the musicians:

Michl Laab
At 10 years of age, Michl Laab starts learning the guitar. He studies music at the Graz conservatory, plays in a variety of rock and pop bands and writes theatre music. For his work he utilizes voice, guitar and electronics. The work method ranges from improvised music to formally accurate pieces. He is interested in the aesthetics of the peculiar. Friction in chaos and gravity of simple motifs develop into a versatile whole.

Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka
A versatile creative musician, Margarethe Maierhofer-Lischka studied classical double bass and contemporary music. Besides being member of Schallfeld, an international contemporary music group, she plays contemporary and improvised music with a variety of bands, ensembles and collective projects and creates sound for theatre, radio and film. She likes to explore the combination of acoustic and electronic instruments, body, voice and space to create polyphonies and intriguing soundscapes.

This album was recorded in 2023 at LIMA studio Graz.
