Following on from ambient slow-burner ‘The Balance’, Quade further explore their unplaceable combination of folk, post-rock, post-punk, and ambient electronica, focusing on atmosphere and space to create an immersive sonic landscape. ‘Spiral’ draws inspiration from a wide variety of sources. The cinematic intensity of Popol-Vuh and downtempo murk of The For Carnation merge with explosive dynamic shifts, reminiscent of contemporaries Black Midi and Squid, resulting in a sound that is totally unique.
