The recording used fragments of folk songs «Как по реченьке яр хмель» (Kostroma region, Nerekhtsky district), «Вкруг поля ходили» (Kostroma region, Neysky district, Ramenye village), «Пора, мати, жито жати» (Bryansk region, Ostroglyadovo village), «Виноградьё» (Belgorod region, the village of Dobroye), a fragment of a recording of a shepherd's drum (Kostroma region, Makaryevsky district, the village of Timoshino). The voice at the beginning of the composition «За околицей» is Maria Ivanovna Danilova, born in 1927, a native of the village of Mikhalenino of the Makaryevsky district, the accordion at the end is Andrey Alekseevich Pyatakov, born in 1950, a native of the village of Unzha of the Makaryevsky district.
