We’re thrilled to introduce Two of a Kind, the debut EP from Soweto’s soulful house duo, RVBB3R BVND. Comprised of the talented Xolani Mkhwanazi and Mpho Ramphela, this duo brings a fresh and unconventional energy to the genre. Their music feels like stepping into an intimate live jazz performance, infused with the groove and emotion of soulful house—a sound that’s as dynamic as it is transformative.

RVBB3R BVND defies the norm with this release, presenting soulful house in a way that’s rarely explored: almost entirely instrumental. While instrumental arrangements are more common in the deep house scene, they remain a rarity in soulful house unless they’re remixes or stripped-down versions of vocal tracks. Here, the duo leans into this space, crafting intricate, layered compositions that stand on their own as full-bodied expressions of rhythm and soul.

The EP features four distinct tracks, each with its own mood and narrative, anchored by lush instrumentation, smooth basslines, and organic percussion that echoes the spontaneity of a live band. One standout moment is their collaboration with Cape Town’s T.I.B, who lends their evocative vocals to the only vocal-driven track on the project, creating a moment of vibrant contrast.
