The performed setlist covered several of the bands albums, reaching from early ‚Get Up Eight‘ (released on 2017 Rise and Rise Again) to ‚Grilling Crickets‘ (from 2019 Gris Gris) to ‚Wake Up And Be Gone‘ and ‚Unmight‘ (from AAMA awarded 2022 Heat) and their newest releases ‚Not Water But Rest‘ and ‚Lila‘ (from 2023 Lila). They reflect a level of interplay and intensity that combines Shake Stews well-known energetic drive with floating improvisations and sheer playfulness.
This album is released as a 300 piece limited edition collectors item for the many fans of Shake Stews live explorations. The vinyl is colored as an Eco-Vinyl, meaning that colour residues from former productions are used to create a pressing where each vinyl has its own unique patterns.
Austrian band Shake Stew has become something of a phenomenon. With their premiere at Jazzfestival Saalfelden 2016 and their debut “The Golden Fang” they seemingly exploded into the scene out of nowhere. Since then their high energy mixture of hypnotic afrobeat and jazz grooves has made them enormously successful not only on home turf but across Europe. Their 6th album LILA is out in October 2023!

Sometimes you get lucky. When Suisse Radio Broadcaster SRF decided to record Shake Stews performance at JazzChurFestival in July 2024 they already knew about the live qualities of the band. What happened that night on stage was still a matter of several stars aligning in a most positive way: The band was on fire, riding on a wave of intensive touring since the beginning of the year. The crowd was hyped and energetic but totally focused at the same time. And finally, the festival crew did everything to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for everyone.
