Five songs commissioned by Burg Hülshoff Center for Literature in Münster, Germany, for Droste Festival 2019. All Songs are inspired by compositions and writings of writer and composer Annette Droste Hülshoff (1797-1848).
Music and lyrics by Anna Kohlweis, except Lyrics for "Fesseln" and "Tower" by Annette Droste Hülshoff ("Am Turme" 1842, translated into English by Ruth Klüger), and lyrics for "Heart Hearth Earth" by Ivna Žic, edited by Anna Kohlweis.
Additonal vocal samples throughout this EP are taken from "Wenn ich träume...' Droste-Musik aus dem Fürstenhäusle in Meersburg" and "Auf den Spuren der Droste", both contemporary recordings of Droste's music and poems.
