Kid Fonque continues the journey with his third solo release ‘Bossa Over?’
Following in the footsteps of his earlier singles ‘2Sides’ & ‘What I Do’ (featuring Nia Andrews) and
staying true to his signature style, ‘Bossa Over?’ is an unashamedly Jazzy affair.
This little number takes a while to build its groove - crisp and clever percussive samples flutter on top
of the warm bassline before some lush piano glides in; transforming it into an playful Latin rhythm. For
the remixes Kid Fonque has unearthed some pure gems from South Africa’s underground scene. First
up on remix duty is Johannesburg-based production prodigy Daev Martian. A refined triumph, his
remix proves just why he’s caught the attention of big players like Mac Miller, Atjazz & The Internet
with his abstract instrumental hip hop.
Next up is Pretoria’s Ta-Ice who takes ‘Bossa Over?’ into tech house terrain. Tough with a soft centre
and aimed squarely at the dancefloor, his re-rub completes this expertly crafted EP.

At a time when mediocrity and artifice dilute and diminish dance music, Kid Fonque has formulated the antidote.
