Recorded in one night in the basement at Colfax Palace, Akron. The songs on "Ocracoke" could be seen as the first of the less-sad talons' songs. The album is thicker than previous recordings; an experiment into ambient-pop, which was currently under careful consideration at Colfax. Some parts of this album would end up as the closing tracks of both "Songs for Babes" and "Songs for Boats", and in many ways, this recording could be seen as the beginning of a chapter of Talons' history. A chapter that ends with "Songs for Boats". Not coincidentally, "Ocracoke" begins with the same guitar part that "Boats" ends with.
