Live recordings made in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, from 27–31 August 2025, celebrating the 30th anniversary of the album Mandylion.

The Gathering proudly presents Echoes of Mandylion, a special live album capturing the celebration of the 30th anniversary of Mandylion. The album brings together live recordings from five special shows at Doornroosje in Nijmegen, the Netherlands, held from 27 to 31 August 2025.

The shows marked the first time in eleven years that The Gathering performed live with the original lineup that recorded Mandylion, including original vocalist Anneke van Giersbergen. Featuring all the songs from the landmark album, Echoes of Mandylion captures a unique moment in the band’s history.

With Echoes of Mandylion, the spirit of that celebration lives on: the songs, the atmosphere and the coming together of a lineup that helped create a truly defining album.

From doom and gothic metal (early years) to triprock with electronic elements and soundscapes; The Gathering's unique sound has always been hard to pigeonhole. The band has seen various line-up changes over the years and has evolved into an eclectic atmospheric rock band.
