As they prepare to embark on their second European/UK excursion in November, The Serfs introduce a limited 7” tour single on Chicago’s Trouble in Mind Records — two new tracks that demonstratively hearken to club days of yore, when football hooligans were first given ecstasy and began dancing the night through in fields and warehouses instead of shanking one another with shattered pint glasses. 

Like some of their previous output, the hues of Cabaret Voltaire circa “Code” are present, but the Serfs mix in a color of elation, and B side extended cut “Regen” has the prescient melodies and groove of a New Fast Automatic Daffodils piece, with a tearful drifting saxophone accompaniment. Make no mistake — this music is meant for movement.

The Serfs are a deliberately nebulous and incidentally industrialist gang of dance-floor hymners - perturbed and tranced-out troubadours whose sound and musical ideology seems to be a causal manifestation of their immediate environments. Like their Ohio predecessors, The Serfs seem askew from the art that surrounds them, and proud of it.
