This album is a compilation of 9 score pieces composed by Bamdad Afshar for the 2020 film Skin. Afshar won the best music award at the 38th edition of Iran's leading film festival, Fajr, for this soundtrack.

Skin's music is an experiment in fusing Iranian myths with Shamanic and Turkmen music, accompanied by the Kopuz and voice of Ashiq Vali Abdi from Ahar in Iran's East Azerbaijan province. While composing this music, Bamdad Afshar was influenced by the paintings of Mohammad Siyah-Qalam and his grotesque demonic figures.
