This EP is easily one of the biggest achievements for this project since its inception. I really pushed myself to make the songs sound as good as possible while not losing what makes Wave Goodbye what it is. At seven songs, it is also my largest release yet. While it was tempting to simply make another 4-5 song EP, I wanted to challenge myself and my musical attention span.

These songs were recorded throughout the summer of 2020. The earliest (adrift) was recorded on June 8th, while the last track (206) was recorded in September. The topics of these songs center around my experiences during the summer of quarantine; they include love (you and me floating in space, tuesday night), broken hearts (summer of love, golden), and battling feelings of confusion and hopelessness (crashing down, adrift). While the songs sound the most polished out of any of them, they still carry a somber undercurrent.

Another reason this EP is an achievement is because it is my first to be released on a label. After months of talking to labels and making connections, I finally struck gold when I started talking to Ian at Baron Tapes, a label based out of Terre Haute, Indiana. He was very welcoming and expressed a strong desire to release my work. This is hopefully just a small step in a continued upward trajectory.
