The second volume of a new open-ended serial catalog of work, consisting of music that has been entirely generated, shaped, processed and mastered within GoldWave - a digital audio software I've been using since I was in high school in the late 1990s.
GoldWave comes with a wide array of tools, including an Expression Evaluator, which uses mathematical expressions to generate various waveforms, sweeps and noise, and from this, GoldWave's extensive set of audio processors (such as standard utilities like ring modulation, pitch shifting, flange, delay, reverb, parametric equalization and high/low/bandpass filtering, but also including more esoteric processors like fast Fourier transforms and Frequency Blend) allow even simple sine or square waves to be built up into detailed and unique masses of sound.
In the very early days, I used to make music from scratch like this in GoldWave, but back then, I was learning as I went, and I did not know anything about synthesis like I do today. In this sense, 'Chrysopoeian Waves' is as much about me returning to bare basics for comfort's sake as it is about really going deeper into this familiar program to see what it can still teach me.
