Following Primal Motion, my latest release via London’s Love In The Endz, I’m glad to be back with a new four-track pack continuing a tradition I really enjoy: making direct, playful and functional club trax.

“TU NO TIENE SAOCO” opens the release with a groovy techno framework built around Afro-inflected drums, hypnotic stabs and Dominican dembow elements. The vocal chops give the track its movement and help tie everything together, keeping it stripped back, percussive and constantly pushing forward.

“SET ME FREE” moves into tech-house territory with the kind of rolling groove made for warehouses and rooms already well past the point of restraint. Drum-machine textures and a punchy low-end carry an enveloping, almost synthetic vocal that feels like it could loop forever. There’s also an extra-dramatic build-up in there for those moments when the room is already fully locked in.

“MI CUERPO / MI MENTE” takes things into a more Afro-housey direction, with catchy female vocal hooks sitting over a galloping bassline and restless percussion. There is little ambiguity in its intention. Hips forward, body moving before the mind has much say in the matter.

Closing track “WHAT U THINK?” is pure rave candy. Classic synth stabs, drum machines and resampled breaks are reduced to their most immediate function and arranged into something straightforward, familiar and ruthlessly effective. No unnecessary detours, just movement.

Made for dark rooms with flashing strobes, fog hanging in the air, sweat, delirious crowds and sound systems being pushed exactly as hard as they should be.

Based in Bogotá, Venezuelan artist WOST develops a hybrid club language shaped by contemporary club music and global sound system culture. Drawing from techno, dembow, UK-influenced sounds and Latin dance music, his work reflects a decade-long involvement in underground club culture.
