We are living in times where we could all use more music, the kind of music that helps us to feel strong and dignified. Jeremiah Jae comes though 100 per cent with his new drop “Payne” off of forthcoming album Daffi. For starters, the song is bangin. Both beats and bars come from his jungle soul. A blend of west coast lean that is not afraid to look the biggest evil in the eye and still keep a hand on the wheel, with deep layers marked from Chi-town. The steady easy, keeping it raw flavor is the all Jeremiah Jae.

Payne is a nod to JJ’s grandmother’s maiden name. And we all know that when a track is bringing in the grandmothers, there is a bigger story we are about to share. The production of Payne, sonically and visually, is about understanding that somethings cannot be divided, sometimes we have to look at everything to make sense of anything. The gritty instrumentals open another dimension, and this is where the alter-ego of JJ lives. Inside of the Payne portal, you cannot unsee history, you cannot mistake the time stamps of oppression. This truth is the fuel for the feels of Payne.
