REVIEWS.
Doomed & Stoned review, written by Billy Goate.
"If you do find yourself investing 50 minutes in this one, you just might agree that what we have on our hands is a new classic for our time. Even if you don’t get as excited as I did on the initial run through, I’m positive you will be rewarded by repeated listens."

The Obelisk review, written by JJ Koczan
"Through all of this, Vokonis reinforces their argument of what “heavy,” as a sonic concept, is all about, and they bring a sense of freshness and purity of intent to back them up that makes it difficult to find a counterpoint. Maybe it is time everybody just riffed out."

Outlaws Of The Sun review, written by Niels Fuzz
"I’m floored, and it’s hard to stay objective when listening to someone honing the greats in such a cool and comprehensive way. Vokonis excel in what they do and could prove to be the torch-bearers confirming that worshipping the riff and paying homage to past masters never grow old or out of relevance. It is with peace of mind that I can greet King Vokonis and welcome him as the new heir to the stoner doom throne, where he surely will sit alongside the other greats in the metal realm on judgement day at the dusk of 2016. Stellar job guys!"

Stoner Hive review, written by JK
"A power trio in every sense of that word. Powerful. Heavy. Doom. Stoner. Metal. All of it applies to a maximum and all of them fall short in telling the real story of Vokonis. For that you will have to experience the full force of the six amazing tracks on their debut effort called Olde One Ascending. They dipped deep into the pool of Iommi and drank heavily of everything Sabbath and Sleep while clashing their cups which are filled to the brim with majestic riffs and exalted repetition with fellow countrymen Monolord. 4/5"

Heavy Planet review, by Pete
"The six songs on offer here fly by in an instant, but the whole record leaves you with your fists clenched, and a feeling that what you’ve just listened to was just about as heavy as it gets (and just in case you didn’t realise the name of this blog, that’s how we like things around here!). Olde One Ascending is an excellent heavy record and if your speakers can take it, get a hold of a copy now!"

Doomspeakers review, written by Will
"Olde One Ascending makes great use of macabre Lovecraftian imagery to create ritual and mystery. Lovecraft has become a bit of a go-to for doom metal these days, and what sets the band apart is their willingness to occasionally break this deadly-serious atmosphere and just play some bad-ass stoner jams. Their marriage of doom and space/stoner make their music broadly appealing, and the band has a dark, doomy future ahead of them."

Desert Psychlist review, written by FDJ
"There is no hiding from the fact that Vokonis owe a huge debt to the monolithic grooves of both Sabbath and Sleep, taking the dark riff heavy desert/doom of the former and mixing it with the more traditional hard rock/metal of the latter, but they twist and weave these elements into a sonic tapestry that is completely and wholly their own."

Getmetal.com review, written by Graneklev
"Det är klart att andra band tidigare har försökt sig på att ge sig på grunderna med ett eget tänk men det är långt ifrån alla som lyckas. Vill man rota bland rötterna i metal eller hårdrock så når man i slutändan till ovannämnda Black Sabbath, så det är inget enkelt man ger sig in på. Men i min mening gör man det mer bravur och detta är ett band som jag tänker följa noggrant framöver."

Daredevil Records review, written by JB
Musik: 8/10 Sound: 8/10"
